The restaurant Mangrt is located just a few minutes from Bovec and less than 20 minutes’ drive from our accommodation. It lies in the very center of the alpine village of Log pod Mangart, with a breathtaking view of the magnificent Mangart.
The restaurant operates on the principle of serving several course menus prepared by the renowned chef Tomaž Sovdat. In an intimate atmosphere, you will be served with culinary excesses, consisting mainly of local and seasonal ingredients. A wide selection of wines from various Slovenian wine-growing regions will enrich your culinary experience.
You will be able to choose between four and six courses, which will be upgraded with wine accompaniment at your request.

ABOUT RESTAURANT MANGRT
The Soča Valley is not only known for its emerald beauty, the Soča River, but also for its creative culinary ideas.
The young and experienced chef Tomaž Sovdat chose his own path and put Bovec on the culinary map of Slovenia with the restaurant Mangrt.
The young team creatively creates plates from local and seasonal ingredients.
The Mangrt Restaurant never runs out of creative ideas from the hands of chefs Tomaž and Yuki.
What used to be a village inn has become more than that today, but at the same time it has kept its sense of homeliness and warmth.
Just as their cuisine is special, so is their story. Tomaž wanted to become a chef from an early age. He started his journey in Bovec, and then continued it in Italy, where he encountered haute cuisine.
After returning to his homeland, he first worked at Gostilna As in Ljubljana, and then worked for three years at Hiša Franko. It was there that he met his life partner Yuki, a Japanese woman who was so seduced by Slovenian cuisine that she decided to stay in Slovenia.
They wrote their joint story for seven years at the Dobra Vila Bovec hotel, and in December 2019 they turned over a new leaf. What used to be a village inn has become more than that today, but at the same time it has kept its sense of homeliness and warmth.
