The extremely interesting, ‘water-eaten’ rock with countless holes and depressions will provide excellent support for climbers and fingers. The left part of the wall is dominated by beginner routes, while the middle and right parts of the wall stand upright and become overhanging. Climbing changes accordingly, as it requires stamina and precise foot placement from the climber.
How to get to the climbing area:
When we descend from Vršič to Trento and go through all the bends, we must pay attention to the second bridge over the Soča (the first one is located immediately after the turnoff for Zadnja Trenta or the source of the Soča). About a kilometer after the second bridge, we will notice some buildings and a church on our left. We park on the roadside gravel parking opposite the church.

Access:
We cross the Soča River via the footbridge, then turn left and follow the marked and well-trodden path that runs in the shade of the forest right next to the edge of the water’s edge. After approx. After 200 m, the world opens up, and on our right we can see a branch of the path that climbs over a short scree. We climb up it, higher up we notice a worse (but still traceable) path, which soon leads us to the wall.
Best time:
Due to its location, climbing in the summer is best done in the afternoon; in the colder part of the year (spring, autumn) in the morning, when the sun hits the wall.
Wall orientation:
The climbing area is oriented towards the northeast.
Warning:
It is also possible to climb longer routes with a 60 m rope, as there are intermediate anchorage points on the descents.

In addition to the compact cliff, the climbing area is distinguished by its quiet and well-kept location in the middle of the forest. Beginner climbers will have the most fun, as most of the routes are in the lower difficulty class.
How to get to the climbing area:
From Bovec, drive towards the Trenta valley (direction Vršič pass) to the village of Kal-Koritnica, where we leave the car on the gravel parking lot next to the main road.
Access:
From the parking lot, head past the houses and follow the signs for Svinjak all the way to the reservoir, which we bypass and continue to the left (Svinjak on the right) along a well-trodden path that will shortly lead us to the first sector of the climbing area. We have 10-15 minutes of access from the parking lot.
Best time:
Summer.
Wall orientation:
The climbing area is oriented towards the west.
Warning:
When passing through the enclosures, it is necessary to close the livestock gate behind you!
The pleasant climbing area in the middle of the forest is dominated by vertical, well-equipped routes on slabs. Since the climbing area receives a relatively large number of visitors in the summer season, some (mainly easier) routes are slippery. The wall dries slowly after rain and can sometimes be dusty. In sport climbing, our mind identifies with our body. Composure is necessary in this sport in order to reach the top. For some people climbing is a hobby, for others it is a serious sport that requires a lot of weekly training and sacrifice. Such renunciation does not in any way mean that we are deprived of important things in our day or life – it turns into a lifestyle that is improved day by day.
