Situated on Slovenia’s northwestern border with Italy, the Uršiči Pass at Kanin is the ideal ski touring destination! Starting from Sella Nevea, we will take a ski lift up to the Gilbert Hut at 1,850 meters (6,070 feet), where we will enjoy a hot beverage before heading out onto the slopes, where the real fun will begin.
From the hut, we will make a quick descent into the Bela peč pass, before crossing the small alpine valley and ascending the other side. From here, we will turn south and continue on through the valley, enjoying the stunning scenery as we go, until we arrive at a ridge.
We will then ascend up to the ridge and follow it west before making another 50 meter (165 foot) ascent up to a scenic overlook, from which we will have breathtaking views farther north into the Julian Alps.
After taking in the view, we will make one of various descents back toward the Gilbert Hut and continue on from there back into the valley from which we started.

Situated in the very northeastern corner of the Slovenian Julian Alps, Čisti vrh is the perfect mountain peak for a ski touring destination!
Serving as the perfect challenge for intermediate-level ski tourers, Čisti vrh also provides fantastic views out over various iconic Slovenian peaks from its summit, including Triglav, Kanjavec, Prisojnik and Bavški Grintavec. Starting from the Trenta valley, just above the village of Vrsnik, we will ascend up the peak via a snowy macadam road – mostly composed of stones and gravel. As we go, we’ll occasionally pass through stunning alpine forest scenery native to this incredible part of the world. Finally, the trees will begin to thin and we will arrive at a snowy plateau. From here, it’s just a short ascent before we arrive at the summit. After taking in the incredible views, the fun part of the trip begins. We will begin out descent along some of the same trails until we arrive back in the Trenta valley and return to the trailhead.
