TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS
From the parking lot, we continue along the road, but this only takes us past a few houses (mainly holidy cottages) in about 15 minutes to the place where the road splits into two parts (there used to be a parking lot at the intersection, but today parking is prohibited). From the old parking lot, turn to the left road in the direction of Pogačnik mountain hut on Kriški podi (the right road leads to Prehodavci and Dolič). After 15 minutes of further walking, the road brings us to the lower station of the freight cable car, where it ends.

Start of the trail, looking back
We continue the ascent along the marked footpath (mule track), which climbs moderately through the forest. The path that climbs above the valley of the Beli potok quickly leads us to very steep slopes (danger of falling stones), over which a very wide footpath leads. The path further crosses the Veliki Presek ravine, after which we come to a short exposed ledge, over which we reach with the help of a steel cable. Next, the path returns to the forest, where it climbs moderately in many bends.

Along the way
A little further on, the path leads us under a small overhang, where we will be able to see many sticks that hikers place to prevent the rock from rolling into the valley (the sticks are placed more as a joke than for real). The path further crosses several small ravines, and then leads us past the chapel to a larger ravine. With some caution (undemanding) we cross the aforementioned ravine, after which we climb up to a pleasant resting place (two benches along the path) in a few minutes of further walking. Next, we cross another large ravine (possibility of snow in early summer), and then the path returns to the forest. Higher up, the forest becomes sparser, and the path steeper and more scenic. The path, which continues to climb along the old mule track, then leads us past two more benches to the dwarf pine lane, after which we pass into a more stony world. We continue climbing over smaller scree, along an increasingly scenic path that leads us higher up to a pleasant well (spring).
View of the Soča alley
Just a few ten steps above the mentioned spring, we will come to an unmarked crossroad, where the unmarked path to Spodnje Kriško lake branches off to the right (2 minutes), and we continue slightly to the left along the still wide mountain path. The path ahead leads us past smaller ruins, and we follow it all the way to a marked crossroads, where the path from the Vrata valley joins us on the right. We continue to the left and after two minutes of further walking we arrive to the Pogačnikov mountain hut on Kriški podi.
