Plant-based culinary experience
DISCOVER THE FLAVORS OF PLANT-BASED CUISINE WITH SOMETHING ELS –
A UNIQUE CULINARY EXPERIENCE
Something Els brings sophisticated plant-based cuisine where taste and creativity meet. With Belgian chef Els, we offer guests of Residence Soča unique culinary experiences and cooking workshops based on seasonal, healthy and carefully prepared dishes.
Interactive cooking workshops with Els offer guests the opportunity to actively participate in the preparation of modern plant-based dishes. In a relaxed and inspiring environment, they learn the basics or more advanced cooking techniques and create flavors that they can easily transfer to their everyday lives.
The workshops are intended for guests who want more than just tasting – they want to create. In small groups, they prepare plant-based dishes together with Els, learn about ingredients, techniques and combining flavors, and discover how simple, balanced and at the same time creative modern plant-based cooking can be.
The workshop is designed as a joint preparation of a three-course menu, with the main course designed according to the principle of a balanced plate. What this means and how to put together such a meal, Els explains to guests in more detail during the workshop itself – through practice, explanation and conversation.
For guests with more prior knowledge or for vegans, more advanced techniques can also be included, such as preparing seitan or smoking ingredients.
In the case of a full-day workshop, the menu is expanded accordingly.
The workshops are suitable for both beginners and those who want to deepen their knowledge. They are available in English and Dutch.
As a private chef, Els prepares a carefully crafted multi-course meal right in the comfort of the guest’s suite, adding a special touch of intimacy and homeliness to each dinner.
Each menu is thoughtfully designed, based on fresh, seasonal ingredients and tailored to the guests’ wishes, allowing for a completely carefree enjoyment of sophisticated plant-based cuisine.
While Els creates flavors, the space transforms into a unique culinary experience – guests can watch the preparation in a peaceful and intimate atmosphere, taste combinations that combine seasonality, creativity and balance of flavors, and experience an evening that is at once relaxing, inspiring and unforgettable.
Els also prepares catering for smaller private groups, business meetings or special occasions. With an emphasis on aesthetics, taste and quality of ingredients, she creates catering that is not just food, but a holistic experience.
Each catering is tailored to the event and guests, complementing the relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere of Residence Soča.
About Els
Els is a Belgian chef who made the Soča Valley her home in 2010. After several years of running a guesthouse, she founded Something Els – her culinary story, which combines a love of plant-based cuisine, respect for seasonal ingredients and a creative approach to food preparation.
As a private chef, she cooks for small private groups, and her dishes have already found their way into local restaurants. In addition to dinners, she leads cooking workshops, where she takes guests into the world of modern plant-based cuisine in a relaxed and inspiring way – from the basics to advanced techniques such as seitan preparation and smoking.
WHY CHOOSE PLANT-BASED CUISINE?
Plant-based cuisine is not just a trend, but a thoughtful choice that combines health, taste and sustainability. Menus based on fresh seasonal ingredients enrich the body with vitamins, minerals and fiber, while also delighting with a variety of flavors, textures and aromas. Modern plant-based cuisine allows every meal to become an experience – creative, colorful and full of harmony.
At Something Els, plant-based cuisine rises to the level of fine dining, where each plate combines carefully selected ingredients, a balance of flavors and aesthetic perfection. Such cuisine inspires not only those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, but also everyone who appreciates quality, seasonality and innovation. Choosing plant-based cuisine thus means a delicious, healthy and sustainable experience that will remain in your memory.

Vegan cuisine is based exclusively on plant-based ingredients, which brings numerous benefits for health, the environment and the taste experience. Menus rich in vegetables, legumes, nuts and whole grains provide the body with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants, while being light and digestible.
In addition, vegan cuisine encourages creativity – by combining seasonal and local ingredients, flavors and textures are created that go beyond the usual idea of plant-based food. This way of eating is also more sustainable, as it reduces the impact on the environment and supports ethical approaches to food production.
Vegan cuisine at Something Els is not just a dietary choice, but a real experience – each dish is thoughtful, balanced and visually perfect, combining pleasure, health and sustainability in one.
