HORSEBACK RIDING ALONG THE EMERALD RIVER
The Blato estate is located in the pristine Soča valley, in the village of Žaga, only 10 kilometres from Bovec. In the idyllic, peaceful environment near the Soča River, horseback riding is the perfect combination of relaxation and getting to know the Soča Valley at the same time.
They have five horses on the property, 4 of which are large and a Welsh pony that can carry a person up to 60 kg. Off-road horseback riding and children’s pony rides are available too.

Off-road riding includes:
DURATION: the whole activity takes about an hour and a half.
SUITABLE: both for beginners, as in their case the horses are led on a leash for greater safety. It is also suitable for experienced riders, with whom we also stop in the outdoor arena, where they can trot and gallop, as the field is exclusively for walking.
Pony riding is suitable for younger children, where the pony is led on a leash. In principle, they ride a cross-country riding program for adults, but the length can be shortened if necessary.
MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF CHILD: 60 kilograms
RESERVATIONS: Advance notice is required (when making a reservation, inform about the riding skills of the participants and the number of riders).
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 4 adults and a child (or adult up to 60 kg). For large horses, the maximum weight of the participant is up to 110 kg.
WHEN THE ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE: From April to November. In July and August, we are active every day, including Sundays and holidays. In case of bad weather, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel the activity.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT: Recommended equipment is long pants/leggings and closed sports shoes. Riding helmet rental is included in the price.

MEET YOUR GUIDE
Greta Štor from Vipava started riding at the age of 7. At that time, under the guidance of Kristina Naglost, she learned all the basics of classical riding and later became interested in jumping over obstacles. Under the watchful eye of Barbara Koron, she made progress and joined the Kras Sežana Equestrian Club during high school. She passed the competition license exam and there followed a period of successful competition seasons in showjumping with horses, under the auspices of Zoran Zečević. At the end of high school, her desire for equestrian knowledge only grew, and during her studies in Koper, she passed an exam that earned her the title of riding instructor.
Her love took her to the mountains, and now at Žaga near Bovec, she strives to transfer her knowledge of equestrianism to everyone who wants to learn the basics of riding and to offer tourists the opportunity to see the beautiful landscape of the Soča Valley on horseback.
