Soča’s upper reaches are fast and have numerous rapids, cascades and pools. In many areas, the river flows through short gullies. The Soča river distinguished itself for its emerald colour, its white pebbles and its winding streambed, which is truly breathtaking as it flows through the green valley towered by snow- capped mountains. The fishing season starts at the end of March, and ends at the end of September for marble trout and at the end of October for rainbow trout.

The art of fly-fishing is the art of paying attention to all of the details. By practicing catch and release, our aim is to cause the least possible harm to our prey which is much more a reward for our skills than food for our needs. Our utmost goal is that the fish live and thrive to be caught again later by another fisherman skilled enough to outsmart it. There is still so much we don’t know about the interconnections of wildlife and the human influence on the natural circle of life and, besides that, there are so many beautiful places left to explore! Research and strict conservation of the environment need to be given precedence over making profits.
